Purell is a good temporary solution when you don't have warm water and soap. In my training for CRMA we are taught to be sure to wash our hands as soon as possible after using Purell.

The water has to be warm, and the soap has to work up to a lather. Lathered soap by itself won't kill the germs. Neither will warm water. But together they are real germ killers!

When i go grocery shopping, i always think about what was on the millions of hands that pushed that shopping cart before me. It's soooo gross!

Thanks Janice!

I've heard that too. I've heard it's even better to use something like Purell. Hand washing makes the germs slippery and slide off. Purell actually kills the germs. (That's what one of our educators here told me!)

'Course, you could probably just dip your hands in rubbing alcohol too!

I think Monk is correct.

If you sing the Happy Birthday song while you wash your hands it is just about long enough to kill the germs.
